For the month of December we are focusing on “Hope After Christmas”.

For more details and information of our services, go to “Christmas 2019”.

If you were to list all the things that go to make up Christmas for you, what would be your top three things? Food, family and presents? Parties, time off work and late night shopping? Christmas movies, the Queen’s speech and decorating the tree? For me, it would be time with family, long walks in the country on bank holidays and the actual message of Christmas itself.

I just love the hope that Christmas brings. The act of putting up decorations brings with it the hope that we will spend time with loved ones; we buy presents in the hope that they will bring joy to the people who receive them. As we prepare vegetables and the turkey for dinner, we hope that our Christmas day meal will be spent with those we love and will be full of good memories.  There is so much hope in Christmas.

The very first Christmas was filled with so much hope too. As the angels came to the shepherds with good news and as the wise men gave their gifts, hope was just so tangible all around. There was a sense of anticipation that this new born baby would bring hope to everyone; to those living then and also hope to those, like us, who were yet to come.  For that baby brought the hope of peace.

The Bible puts it like this: ”For to us a baby is born, to us a son is given. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Of the greatness of his peace there will be no end.”  That’s the hope that this new born baby, Jesus, promises to bring to all of us.

New Life Church

in  Worthing

We want to see God touch Worthing:

Through meeting together to pray for our town or being the hands and feet of Jesus in our jobs and schools.
We want to see Worthing come face to face with our God!

We want to work as one:
Here at Newlife, we feel called to serve and empower the churches in Worthing to be united in all we do for the Kingdom.
Keeping a bigger mindset than just our congregation, helps us support and encourage ALL that God is doing.

We want to be a safe place for our community:
We want to be a practical help for those in need in Durrington, providing support, prayer, healing, food, clothes, advice,
a listening ear and above all, God, to those on our doorstep
